On July 14, 2026, more than 70 teachers and students from Guyuan No. 2 High School in Ningxia, led by vice principal Tu Chengshan (a member of the first cohort of government-sponsored teacher education students majoring in chemistry at Shaanxi Normal University, Class of 2011), visited the Institute of New Concepts Sensors and Molecular Materials at Shaanxi Normal University for a science popularization tour, where they experienced the allure of technology and feel the charm of science.

R&D engineer Luo Yanyan introduced the institute’s basic profile, research team, research overview, and development philosophy. She then led the students on a tour of the institute’s exhibition room, explaining the important roles of sensor technology and molecular gel materials in fields such as national defense and security, environmental monitoring, and healthcare, as well as the commercialized research products developed by Prof. Fang Yu’s team, including explosive detectors, drug detectors, and slow-release environmental disinfection products.
