On July 14, 2026, Prof. Fang Yu joined a delegation led by Shaanxi Normal University president Chen Xinbing on a visit to Xi’an Jiaotong University, and met with Zhang Liqun, president of Xi’an Jiaotong University and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; XJTU Prof. Jiang Zhuangde, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; and XJTU vice president Shao Jinyou for discussions.

Fang Yu suggested that the two universities further leverage their respective strengths, seize the development opportunities presented by the 15th Five-Year Plan period, establish closer ties in areas such as interdisciplinary collaboration and the joint construction of research platforms, and work together to serve the nation’s major strategic needs.
