On September 28, 2026, Researcher Wu Kaifeng from the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was invited to visit the Institute of New Concept Sensors and Molecular Materials at Shaanxi Normal University, where he presented a report titled “Quantum Control of Triplet Excitation State Dynamics”.

Wu Kaifeng’s presentation focused on whether quantum coherence effects exist in chemical material systems under “warm and humid” conditions, and whether these quantum effects can be harnessed to achieve quantum-level control over these chemical reactions and material properties. Using advanced time-resolved spectroscopic methods, he conducted systematic studies on photochemical systems such as quantum dots and organic molecules, revealing that quantum coherence and quantum tunneling effects do indeed exist in triplet photochemical processes, and that these quantum effects can be harnessed to effectively regulate photochemical yields.

The report was moderated by Prof. Bian Hongtao and attended by Prof. Fang Yu and more than 30 faculty members and students from the institute.
