On July 1, 2026, about 120 ninth-grade students and teachers from the Chang’an Campus of Shaanxi Normal University Affiliated Middle School visited the Institute of New Concept Sensors and Molecular Materials at Shaanxi Normal University for a science popularization tour, where they experienced the allure of technology and feel the charm of science.

Vice dean Prof. Ding Liping and Prof. Liu Taihong introduced the institute’s basic profile, research team, research overview, and development philosophy to the students. Subsequently, R&D engineers Wen Ruijuan, Wang Pei, and Luo Yanyan led the students in groups to tour the institute’s exhibition room and laboratories, explaining the important roles of sensor technology and molecular gel materials in fields such as national defense and security, environmental monitoring, and healthcare, as well as the commercialized products developed from research outcomes by Prof. Fang Yu’s team, including explosive detectors, drug detectors, and slow-release environmental disinfection products.
