On August 18, 2026, Professors Aloyse Degiron and Hervé Aubin from the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) were invited to visit the Institute of New Concept Sensors and Molecular Materials at Shaanxi Normal University, where they presented reports titled “Exploring New Prospects for Optoelectronics with Colloidal Quantum Dots Hybridized with Nanophotonic Environments” and “ESR-STM of FePc Molecules in the Strong Coupling Regime”, respectively.

In his presentation, Prof. Degiron discussed optoelectronic devices that couple quantum dots with metamaterials. In these devices, metamaterials enhance the luminescence of quantum dots, but the carrier lifetime is independent of the surrounding photonic environment. He explained this observation using the theory of carrier thermalization and explored the underlying physical mechanisms. Prof. Aubin, focusing on ferrocyanide (FePc) molecules deposited on a substrate, presented his team’s new breakthrough in electron spin resonance scanning tunneling microscopy (ESR-STM) research. By utilizing the spin-coupling interaction between the probe tip and the FePc molecules, they achieved control over the spin-tunneling current.

The session was moderated by Prof. Liu Taihong. More than 40 people, including INCSMM faculty and students, as well as Professors Hu Bin and He Gang from Xi’an Jiaotong University and Assoc. Prof. Wang Hongyue from Northwestern Polytechnical University, attended the event and engaged in a discussion with the two professors.
