On September 15, 2026, Prof. Fang Yu attended the launch ceremony for the main event of the First Silk Road Science Fiction Conference held in Xi’an.

Held under the theme “Stars Above the Silk Road, Weaving Dreams into a Pictures”, the conference was organized by the Shaanxi Provincial Association for Science and Technology and the Shaanxi Provincial Writers Association. It featured sections on science fiction industry exploration, science fiction IP incubation, science fiction work exhibitions, cutting-edge technology interactions, exchanges among science fiction creators, and a Youth Science Fiction Carnival. The event also saw the release of the Report on Recommendations for the Development and Action Plan of the Science Fiction Industry in the Five Northwestern Provinces and the Current Status and Recommendations for the Development of the Science Fiction Industry in Shaanxi.
