From July 11 to 22, 2026, Prof. Ma Jiani from the Institute of New Concept Sensors and Molecular Materials at Shaanxi Normal University, upon a joint invitation from Thorsten Bach, a member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and Nikola Basarić, a member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, attended the 30th IUPAC Symposium on Photochemistry (30th PhotoIUPAC) in Zagreb, Croatia and presented an invited report.

During her visit, Ma Jiani also visited the Chinese Embassy in Croatia and met with Science and Technology Counselor Zhang Jinbin, and on July 20, she visited the Institut Ruder Boskovic in Croatia to present a report.

PhotoIUPAC, organized by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), aims to bring together leading experts and scholars in the field of photochemistry from around the world to engage in academic exchange, jointly explore critical scientific challenges in photochemistry, and propose future directions for the field.
